General Terms and Conditions
1. Parties
In these Terms and Conditions, the terms ‘Tutor’, ‘Client’, and ‘Student(s)’ refer to the individuals named in Part 1 and, where applicable, any other person with delegated authority acting on their behalf.
2. Services Offered
The Tutor agrees to provide tuition to the Student(s) as specified by the Client, either via the online Google Form or as subsequently agreed (preferably in writing—by text, email, in-app message or other means).
3. Fees
£25 per 25-minute session
£40 per 50-minute session
4. Payment Terms
Clients may choose from two payment options:
Half-termly in advance – payable no later than 24 hours before the first session
Monthly in advance – payable on the 1st of each month
5. Disbursements and Expenses
The Client agrees to cover disbursements and any additional expenses incurred by the Tutor on their behalf, as long as these are agreed beforehand.
6. Cancellation by Client
If a lesson is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or the Client does not attend, the session will be chargeable. The Tutor may waive or reduce this fee at their sole discretion in cases of genuine extenuating circumstances.
7. Cancellation by Tutor
If the Tutor cancels a lesson, there will be no charge. The Tutor will seek to reschedule or apply the fee to a future session.
8. Technical Failure (Online Tuition)
If the issue is due to the Client's device or internet, the session is treated as cancelled by the Client and is chargeable.
If the issue is due to the Tutor's device or internet, the session is treated as cancelled by the Tutor and is not chargeable.
9. Safeguarding and Professionalism
The Tutor will offer to share their Enhanced DBS certificate via the Update Service prior to the start of tuition and is happy to provide a copy upon request. The Tutor adheres to the Code of Practice published by The Tutors’ Association.
10. Dispute Resolution
Both parties agree to act in good faith and take reasonable steps to resolve any disputes. If a resolution cannot be reached, they will consider using Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
